God just wants you. Not what you can do. In His mind the priority is not gifts, talents or ability. Jesus didn’t go to the cross to make us servants, but to make us God’s own children.

We are taught the importance of seeking God’s face and not just His hands – not just looking for what God can do for us, but seeking His heart.

Likewise, God seeks your face and not just your hands. His primary purpose is not what you can do for Him or give Him, but to draw you into close connection with His heart. He wants our hearts, but sometimes we give Him our hands instead.

We can be so busy looking for our purpose in the world – what we can do for God – which is good and necessary. But we can only give what we have. We can be missing the primary purpose for our existence, which is to be His, to belong and commune and stay connected in deep relationship with Him, heart to heart. And from that place we have the privilege of ministering to others.

God says, I want you. Seek Me with all your heart. Seek to know Me. All else will flow out of that. Just practice being His. Run into His heart and rest in His faithfulness. Power will follow. Ministry will follow.

THE COTTAGE

It's been standing for many years now. Dwarfed by the modern buildings surrounding it, this old cottage looks like it's seen better days....
