One recent morning after a busy week I was driving to the beach to spend some time with God. As I reached the beach I couldn’t keep the smile from my face; I felt like I was sneaking off to meet a Lover in a special, secret place.
It’s important to have somewhere to go where you can get yourself together, find space and connect with God, but when you can’t get to the ideal physical place, what do you do?
We need continual access into the inner sanctuary, the me-and-God place in our heart where we can commune with Him, no matter where we are physically. When we’re feeling fragmented, that’s where we become whole again. When we’re feeling lost, it’s where we’re found. It’s the place where we cry, “Daddy, Father!” (Galatians 4:6)
Finally, Lord, You and me. This is what I live for – this You and me time, in this You and me place.
This You and me thing that we have and are and do. It’s the fabric of my life; it’s what defines me,
and without it I would fall apart – my life would fall apart – because this is my life.
You are my Life – my rich, abundant, purposeful and fulfilling Life.
